Fitment update regarding Ultimate Dana 60 front housing: oversized cooling fins on the U60 housing are causing a clearance issue with our skid plate. It does not appear our skid plate is compatible with this housing. This issue has not been reported to us with a Currie or Dynatrac front housing. FAQ: Long Arm or Short Arm skid plate? To determine which skid plate you need, simply look at your suspension goals. If you are or have relocated your control arm mounts on your frame, then you need the long arm skid plate. If your control arms are in their OEM locations, as in you did not cut off and weld in new control arm mounts, then go with our short arm skid plate.
Do I experience any driveline vibration or noise? No. Our oil pan / transmission / dual cat skid mounts away from all driveline components giving you factory like performance. You'd never know the skid was even installed!
I've read I have to remove my crossmember to install this skid plate. Is that true? No, it's a common question. On newer Jeep Wrangler JK's there's a factory "skid" that takes up the same real estate as our skid plate. That must be removed to install our skid plate.
Do I have to remove or replace my factory cross member with an aftermarket one to install this skid plate? No.
Is my 3.6L exhaust loop covered? No. Your exhaust loop produces enormous amounts of heat that can be trapped by a skid plate in that area. If it becomes too hot it will crack and fail.
